What is a ripomatic?
A ripomatic is a quick, rough film cut from existing footage — ads, films, stock — to show what an idea will look and feel like before anyone shoots a frame.

What it’s for
Agencies use ripomatics to pitch a campaign. Clients use them to agree on tone and pace before a production budget is spent. Channels use them to sell a sponsorship idea to an advertiser. A good one answers “what will this feel like?” in under a minute.
Ripomatic, animatic, mood film
An animatic is made from storyboard drawings. A mood film sets a tone without telling the story. A ripomatic tells the actual story, beat by beat, with borrowed footage, temp music and a guide voice-over.
How I make them
Start from the script, or the idea in one line. Find footage that carries each beat, record a guide voice-over, choose temp music, then cut fast and revise with the team. It usually takes a few days, not weeks.
One rule
A ripomatic uses footage nobody on the team owns, so it’s for pitches and internal tests only — never for air.
